Concept Space

A periodic table for ideas.

Plot your ideas - characters, products, stories, art, plans - on a grid of the dimensions you care about. See at a glance where you cluster, where you stand alone, and which coordinates nobody has built yet. Click an empty cell and AI proposes a candidate that fits.

The Returners' Wake
A widowed ferry pilot hears voices in the swell that match a half-finished sea-shanty. Each verse pulls another lost vessel back toward shore, and her dead husband's name a little closer to the chorus.

Filled cells are ideas you already have. Dashed cells are the gaps. Pick one and AI proposes a candidate like the one shown. This is an illustrative sample; your grid is built from your own ideas.

01How it works
1

Bring your ideas

Paste a list - characters, products, studies, whatever you're working on. AI reads them and builds the axes for you. Or pick a starter and set your own dimensions.

2

See the shape

Every idea lands on the grid. At a glance you see where you cluster, where you stand alone, and which cells nobody has filled.

3

Fill the gaps

Click an empty cell and AI proposes a candidate that fits that exact spot, drawing on its neighbouring ideas. Keep the ones you like.

03Foundations

Built on formal innovation theory

Three pieces of formal innovation theory underpin the tool, none of them new. Together they give you a way to reason about an idea space instead of brainstorming into it.

Zwicky · 1969Morphological analysis. List the dimensions of a problem and enumerate every combination. Most are nonsense; the survivors are candidate solutions.
Altshuller · 1984TRIZ contradiction resolution. Innovation is contradiction resolution: features in tension that the solver finds a way to hold simultaneously.
Gärdenfors · 2000Conceptual spaces. Concepts have geometry. Distance and direction in concept space are real, measurable, and useful.
